A pencil case with a classy look and an interactive surface.
Made as the final project for the wood and metal workshop course, this short-term exercise tested our skills with the machines, we learned to use during the previous 2 weeks.
As an interaction Designer, I just had to design something one can interact with and at the same time serves several uses.
The simple exterior at first leaves no sight of the opening mechanism, that pops open using spring steel.
Inspired by the Rotring Radiograph, and a corresponding case which lets you store the pens ready to use, I wanted to design the case to form a pen holder in an open state.
The Spring serves three main purposes: Storage, protection and as an addition to the workspace.
